I didn't plan to spoil it by posting a sketch... but oh well

This is concept sketch of upcoming collaboration illustration with !khaosdog representing divine Earth Creations (massive in bird-esque form) and this is part of "Xolotlan's Journey".

I drew this on A3 size bristol, I so enjoy sketching and detailing on large formats, since when I discovered drawing on A4 sucks.

The reason I uploaded this, also as an example of new pencil commissions which I'd like to take. If you're interested in commissioning detailed pencil concept artworks- send to me a note!

It's like a cross between a pelican and a pterodactyl! All the bits hanging on it make me think it's in a swamp, but looking closer at the background... it's not, is it?

Very cool. Makes me think the large lower mandible of the beak is used as a hammer, perhaps for breaking the shells of water beasties.

Wow! This is great art. I can't wait for it to be finished. I've posted my first drawing and I'll never stop and I know I'll get better and better with time. Artist like you is what keeps me going. Thanks for the inspiration!
