Animals were always important for me- especially having physical contact with them. Not because of art. No one told me or persuaded to like them. It was even before I started drawing them and creating imaginary creatures. I'll say, I don't really remember the moment when I started liking animals- I feel like I liked them before I gained my own consciousness. Which is strange, none of my parents had special liking to them, nor we had any animals. My passionate love to animals was written in the stars that no one can erase or manipulate with my feelings toward our little brothers...

I'm waking up early at morning.

Usually I'm a longsleeper, that I have demanding need to sleep for long hours but this morning, very early a pack of kittens were jumping on me. I've realized that besides canines outside and cats inside we have another residents... flies. I hate flies. But cats love them. I don't know what's up with them but at early morning they love to fly around me.... and that means jumping cats on me trying to hunt down them. It's actually very pleasant feeling! But... they make me to wake up, that causese I can't go back to sleep anymore.

Usually three cats sleep with me. Oriental cats are very emotional, they love to be with human and... well for me, they are closer to have bonds with human like dogs out of all cats I've ever met. There, at my friend's animal farm, we have pack o three kittens, one with blue collar is the most emotional out of all cats. She has stronger preference to sleep with me than to play with her siblings... oh well, sometimes I'm afraid to sleep with her since she did poop on me ! =p

When I want to draw, my eyes are aiming on chair to sit comfortably... but instead, I see... Jami's expression says "NOPE U'R NOT GOING TO DRAW!".

Ooops.

Besides being at house and being surrounded by cats (and flies!), my biggest passion are ancient Inuit dogs from Greenland... Since it's summer, we call it as lazy season for them where they don't work- and at the moment, two alpha females have litters of puppies. All puppies are going to good mushing homes, mostly to Russia.

And then, second litter of two working parents in sled dog races. Mother named Ragna with her almost two month old puppies.

You are an amazing photographer and artist overall! You have been a muse - of - sorts to me since seeing your art for the first time. The thing about art is, it's a constant, no matter what happens in real life, you can always pick it up if it has to be put down. :)

p.s. - now I want an Inuit dog.... :P

Oh my goodness your animals are absolutely ADORABLE!

Good photographs too!

I can totally relate with connecting with animals from day 1. Someday I will be able to be around more (the college living thing isnt so kind to having pets)

Also that one photo with the omega being bullied by the alpha where they both have their mouths open, just reminds me of that "Waaazzzzuppppp" phase that I think was happening in like the 90s or something

I miss contact with animals. As a kid I used to have cats, dog and to ride horses. Right now I'm saving money to afford riding lesson again :) so I could have contact with animals again. Also I'm considering about volontiring somewhere to take care about animals who need love :) I'm still suffering of breaking bond with my cat who died several years ago at the age 15 or 16. We were always stuck together my entire childhood. It was a really strong bond we had, I assume. Anyway, I like your story with animals :) a story made of simple things, but a beautiful story ^^

My love for animals is just like yours. It have been with me ever since I can remember. My parents didn't have special liking to them either. It's awesome to meet someone just like me. I too love Inuit dogs but I never saw one in real life.

Amazing photos as well. You really captured the different emotions going around with both dogs and cats :meow:

And just a quick question, how do you feel around Greenland dogs? And are they hard to take care of?

I'm not sure what to say... they always fascinate me with their behaviour, I feel like I always discover or learn something new from them :)

Very difficult... especially if you own a pack.

Oh goodness, your animals are all amazing! Is it very challenging to work with sled-dog breeds, I have always heard they are rather territorial? (But the puppies are precious.) I wish both you and your animals continuing well-being! :)

Greenland dogs and origin Inuits are the hardest sled dogs to work with, and even, one of hardest canine breed on earth. I'd have to watch for every movement with them. We usually keep them in only pair and almost never let them to run in pack. On rare occassions, we let them to be in trio- depending on their behaviour. An alpha pair and omega positioned (male usually) is a great combination. I should put a photo of myself from kennels.... you'd see my arms being wounded and tons of scars and scratches ;) Though, despite that, they are my biggest passion to be with.

Love the photos! I chuckled at the one with the kitten leaping in the air after the feather toy...:)

Animals have always had a special place in my heart. I don't seem them as pets, but my children or equals. Right now I have two rescued kitties, Jaden and Jiraiya. Jaden is a Maine Coon mix, Jiraiya is a Russian Blue and to smart for his own good. My other animals are a Meyer's Parrot (Noodle), 2 Leopard Geckos (Rory & Amelia), a Crested Gecko (Sputnik) and a Brown Basilisk (Sage).

I'd say that I certainly view them more than just a pet but something very close, a family bond but I'd never treat them as the child in human way. I perceive them differently than children. I've seen too caring owners for their own pets... that has ended negatively.

Interesting animals you have, especially parrot. :D I used to be a bird person before any other animals! They were my first animals. I used to have cockatoo parrots... but due to trauma of owning birds, I no longer own nor plan to get any of them.

No, I don't treat my animals like human children. What I meant is, I am responsible for them, like a parent is to a child. I take care of their needs and I try to give them the best. Their needs come before mine...:)

I actually hand raised my parrot, Noodle. It was a great experience. My Grandfather had a Cockatoo, her name was Angel. I'm sorry to hear that you were traumatized by owning birds...:(

I always find it odd to think some people don't like animals. After-all, we're animals too. To me it seems to dislike animals in general you have to dislike something innate within yourself, or have a disconnect with nature. Which is an unfortunate shame.

Anyway, these cats and dogs are all beautiful, the Greenland dogs look so much like wolves in some shots. Wonderful photography!

I believe too that we are mammals, very much like the rest of animal kingdom. If we were human and the rest of everything in the world was trees and plans, then yes, I can see the divinity of humanity and it's importance beyond- but no, we all, amongst animals share the same body anatomy, heart, brain, emotions and muscles. Though there is theory why human differs and acts in different way than the rest of /our known universe/... but either way, we are the same.

The value is equal.

I love the saying of primitive Indian tribes (I think it was Zuni beliefs) saying that all what was created by nature is perfect, trees, animals and so on but only what imperfect is... humanity. Doesn't suprise you why we /humans/ chase for perfection and lead more destruction?

Greenlands are quite fascinating. In DNA report by Danish polar researcher, most of Greenland dogs and Inuits from their origins and people who live with their tradition, to achieve new, fresh bloodlines for dogs as well the healthier ones, they mix with wolves of High Arctic. Because Greenland dogs are very wide spread with their look and body shapes, in Greenland you can find original ones that are larger, scruffier and very wolflike. Greenland dogs and Inuits are dogs that you can't tell how they really look or define with dog breed measurements. That's why one of reasons Greenlands doesn't exist in AKC in USA. But that's better for the breed that is not listed in any kennel clubs... (I view them as evil... >__> )

What is fascinating, is that cat's mom is much more caring than dog ones ;). She really watches for her kittens, reacts on every step... and as well, Daddy is very caring while usually with dogs they don't care.

I share the same passion for animals. My mom, grandmother and a few more relatives really like animals while my sister and other half of my family tree dislike them. It's great to listen to my moms stories about how she met so many wild animals in the forests when she was little. c:
